Marketing services for plumbing companies, and how to choose between them

Most plumbing companies need the four services in a particular order: be findable locally, make the website convert, buy urgent searches carefully, then publish content that answers what customers are reading about.

Plumber.News offers four marketing services to plumbing companies across Canada. They are designed to work together, but they don't all need to start at once. The right order depends on three facts about your business: how much of your work is urgent, how well your phone gets answered, and which jobs you want more of. We market and advise plumbing companies; we never do plumbing work ourselves.

Local search and Google Business Profile

Start here if people in your own neighbourhoods can't find you on a map. For most plumbing companies, this is the cheapest durable source of calls.

Local search covers your Google Business Profile, service-area pages for the communities you actually reach, consistent listings, and a steady review process. It matters most for urgent work, where the customer picks from the first three names on the map. It takes a few months to build and then keeps paying back without a per-click cost.

Choose it first if: you rely on referrals and repeat customers and get few calls from search, or your profile is incomplete, or you have recently moved or added a service area.

Paid search buys position immediately. That is useful for burst pipes and no-hot-water calls, and expensive if the targeting is loose.

Our ads service sets up Google Local Services Ads and search campaigns around urgent searches, your hours and your real service area, with tracked phone numbers so every call is counted. We cut search terms that waste money, such as do-it-yourself queries and job seekers.

Choose it early if: you have spare capacity now, your phone is answered reliably, and your local search is still building. Hold off if: missed calls are common; fix that first, or the ads pay for rings nobody answers.

Plumbing websites built around the phone call

A plumbing website has one main job: turn a worried visitor on a phone into a call or a text within seconds. Everything else is secondary.

The website service builds service pages for each job you want more of, clear coverage pages, honest pricing information where you can give it, careers pages for recruiting apprentices and journeypersons, and visible phone and text buttons on every screen.

Choose it first if: your site is slow on mobile, hides the phone number, has one page for "services", or was built before your current service mix.

Code-change and industry content

This is the service that grows out of our newsroom. When a code changes, a city launches a lead pipe program or a rebate opens, customers search for what it means. Industry content turns those changes into plain-language, dated, sourced pages on your own site.

It builds authority slowly and suits companies best when they that do planned work as well as emergencies: water heater replacements, repiping, lead service replacement, backwater valves, renovations. It is also how you earn links and mentions from local media and community sites.

Choose it after local search and the website are sound. Content on a site that doesn't convert is wasted.

How a plan is priced

Our Growth plan costs $1,999 a month, or $1,499 a month on annual billing, with GST/HST added at your province's rate. The pricing page explains what changes the cost, and the results page shows what the same methods produced in our HVAC work. To talk through which services suit your company, see contact.

Frequently asked questions

Which service should a small plumbing company start with?

Usually local search. A complete Google Business Profile and accurate service-area pages cost less than ads and keep working. If your website can't turn a visit into a call, fix that next.

Do I need all four?

No. Many owners start with one or two. The plan depends on how busy you already are, what jobs you want more of and how well your phone is answered.

Do you do the plumbing work or subcontract it?

Neither. We are a marketing and business consulting service, not a contractor. Every job our marketing produces is yours.

How do you report results?

Monthly, in plain numbers: calls and texts by source, booked jobs where you track them, cost per booked job and what we're changing next.
