Plumber.News is a Canadian newsroom and marketing service for plumbing companies. It reports dated, sourced news about codes, certification, municipal water programs, construction data and advertising rules, and it plans and runs marketing for plumbing owners who want their company found and trusted. Its owner is the Sedighi.ca and SAZ.ca group of companies; its home base is Vancouver, British Columbia; and its leader is Ali Sedighi, MBA.
The company
The short answer: a small, senior team inside a Canadian consulting group, focused on one trade.
Plumber.News belongs to the Sedighi.ca and SAZ.ca group. Sedighi.ca is the consulting company through which Ali Sedighi works on growth, marketing and technology, and it carries brands such as HVAC.Agency, HVAC.Digital, Trades.Agency, BusinessConsulting.ca and Conv.ca. SAZ.ca, short for Strategy & Acceleration Zone, is the group's Canadian firm for strategy, AI and revenue acceleration; Ali founded it and is its Founder & Managing Partner.
Our closest relation is Trades.Agency, the group's agency brand for trades and home-service businesses. Plumber.News uses Trades.Agency's plans and pricing, and adds a newsroom that keeps the work grounded in what is actually changing in the plumbing trade.
We work with plumbing companies in every province and territory, from our base in Vancouver.
What we are, and what we are not
We are a marketing and business consulting service. We report on plumbing, plan marketing for plumbing companies and help owners think through growth, hiring and pricing.
We are not a contractor. We don't install, repair or service plumbing, we don't send crews and we don't compete with our clients for jobs. We are also not a code authority: our news summarises official sources and links them, but compliance questions belong with your provincial or municipal authority.
Ali Sedighi, MBA
Ali's degree is an MBA in Technology Management. His 17+ years in digital marketing began in 2007 with ONE.ir, the full-service digital marketing agency he founded that year. He now lives and works in Vancouver, British Columbia.
Later ventures include Conv.ca, his conversion-rate optimisation agency, and MyAutomation.ca; at SAZ.ca he serves as Founder & Managing Partner. He has worked with clients in Canada, the USA and Dubai, and has built 150+ live HVAC websites, including CombiBoiler.ca, Roma Heating & Cooling, HeatLand and BCWide.ca.
That HVAC background matters for plumbing. Many Canadian plumbing companies also do heating and water heaters, face the same seasonal swings and win jobs the same way: on the phone, from the map, from reviews. The results page presents that work honestly, as results from our HVAC work.
How the newsroom works
Every story on Plumber.News follows the same rules:
- Primary source first. We load the code publisher's, ministry's, utility's or statistics agency's own page or document.
- Real dates. The article's published date is the source's date.
- Nothing invented. No made-up quotes, numbers or "industry sources".
- Uncertainty stated. If a detail comes only from trade press, we say so.
- A practical close. Each story ends with what it means for running and marketing a plumbing business.
You can see the full list in the newsroom.
How we work with plumbing clients
- Numbers before tactics. We start with average job values, margins, booking rates and capacity, because those decide what marketing is worth.
- Honest claims. Prices include mandatory fees; efficiency and environmental claims are sourced; certification is stated precisely.
- You own everything. Website, domain, Google Business Profile, ad accounts and content stay in your name.
- Plain reporting. Monthly, in calls, booked jobs and cost per job.
- No lock-in. Plans are month-to-month with 30 days' notice.
For one-to-one business consulting beyond marketing, our sister brand Plumber.Consulting works with plumbing owners on pricing, hiring and systems.
Why a newsroom
Most marketing firms for trades write about marketing. We also write about the trade, because the changes in codes, certification and municipal programs are what drive the planned plumbing jobs that marketing can win. Reporting them carefully keeps us honest about the details.
